What is a NIBBLER™?
The NIBBLER™ is a wastewater pretreatment
system designed to reduced high strength wastewater to levels
comparable to that of residential septic tank effluent.
The NIBBLER™ does this through a patented
process which injects air into the wastewater that supports a
diverse micro-organism population. Organic material is digested
naturally.

NIBBLER™ Profile
DESCRIPTION: The Nibbler™ is an acorbic
treatment device consisting of one or more tanks each of which is
equipped with air pumps. The air pumps are driven by an external
regenerative air blower and
function
as the wastewater air contactor and the liquor mixing mechanism
within the system. Each Nibble™ unit also contains buoy anti media
which is retained by a grid below the liquid level throughout the
entire surface of the tank.
TYPE OF SYSTEM: The Nibbler™ is
designed to treat high-strength wastewater to a least residential
sewage septic tank effluent quality and will reduce wastewater
constituent (BOD%, TSS and Grease and Oils) to or below those
levels customarily found in residential sewage septic tank
effluent. The Nibbler™ is a process for treating high strength
waste and can be designed to fit a wide range of flows and waste

Flow Process
A
typical NIBBLER™ system has a grease trap, surge tank, NIBBLER™
unit and clarifier. The surge tank is sized with a two day
capacity. A time controlled pump mounted in the surge tank, curbs
peak flows and allows for even dosing of the NIBBLER™ unit. A
clarifier tank protects the drainfield from potential escape of
any remaining solids. NIBBLER™ systems are designed to reduce
waste strength by 90% or more. The NIBBLER™ has a proven track
record.
